As students, we are ,or atleast should be always on the lookout for ways to save money. In recent years, sites that offer textbook rental have been popping up all over the internet. There are the heavyweights in the market like BookRenter and Chegg, along with countless other reputable websites that offer students outstanding discounts on their textbooks. With so many companies offering textbook rentals, it can difficult to locate the best price. Lucky for us though, there are sites like CampusBooks.com.
CampusBooks.com is a unique website that scans through the most popular textbook websites and allows students to compare prices on rentals, as well as on new and used textbooks. Their goal is to ensure that students are able to find the best deals on textbooks, while saving them the time and hassel of manually browsing each website. To get an idea of how awesome CampusBooks service really is, search for a few of your textbooks in the widget below. It’s always important to search around for the best deals on textbooks, and CampusBooks makes it easier than ever. Whether you are buying new, used, or renting, be sure to save as much money as you can. Keep in mind things like shipping cost and speed, rental period, and pricing structure when looking for the best deal.
One of my favorite places to rent textbooks is from BookRenter.com. They have a 5 star guarantee and lightning fast shipping. We have recently teamed up with BookRenter and opened our own bookstore. I think textbook comparing websites are the best thing to happen to college students. I have been using one site for as long as I can remember. Just having so many prices compared on one site is really amazing; it saves me a great deal of time.
As for renting, as I mentioned in a previous comment I still haven't gotten used to it. However, it's definitely something I might try soon. My unsold textbooks are piling up everywhere, so renting might just be the right option for me right now.

I have to agree. I especially have found them useful when selling books. Comparison sites are super efficient.
It's always a good idea to compare the rental cost vs how much the book costs used. If buying is only a little more costly, I'll usually buy knowing that I'll most likely be able to recoup some of the cost when I resell the book at the semesters end.

Oh most definitely, when I want to sell a textbook I use the price comparing websites as well. I look at the site willing to pay the most and I list the book there.

Finding good deals on textbooks can be like looking for a needle in haystack. Searching by title, ISBN, and author can be a daunting task that does not always produce the best prices. There is a website out there (MyEdu) that provides students with links to the cheapest textbooks available. All you have to do is input your class schedule into the schedule planner and the textbooks you need for the class automatically appear. It makes shopping for textbooks much less of a hassle and you don’t have to deal with the crowds!

Really nice post! Unfortunately I study in Canada and neither bookRenter nor Chegg ship there! So I had to look for some sites in Canada and found a pretty good one where you can buy and sell used university textbooks.
It is a student portal called locazu.com, which contects students directly to each other to sell or buy used books, help each other with tutorials or post upcoming events. A really nice page and a good alternative for canadian students!

I can’t tell you how much money I spent on books each semester. Possibly between five and six hundred dollars. Those books stores at colleges are just printing money!
