Along with taking classes, landing a job during the summer is an efficient way to use up some of the free time that summer break provides. While the sunny season may provide you with plenty of time to work, the problem is finding a place to work.

When you’re on your summer job hunt, be sure to check out these websites for job openings.

Indeed.com is one of the best places to look for jobs. The site aggregates jobs from multiple sites and puts them all in one place. The site includes job listings from other job boards as well as directly from employer websites, so you’re going to find plenty of job postings. Indeed is basically a search engine for jobs.

Another great way to find a job is to check and see if your college actually has it’s own job board. But, what I’ve noticed to be the most helpful in landing an immediate job is networking with people prior to you needing a job and then when the time comes you have already built a relationship with them and they are probably willing to give you a part-time or even full-time job if you need one.

Checking the school job board is another great option.

I agree, networking is very important when trying to land a job. It really is all about the connections you have.

It’s really a pain in the head if you do not have connections who can help you out in finding a summer job or a real job. Building good relationships or connections with other people will surely help you to find a job easier compared to others.

If you are thinking of using online resources make sure that you are ready to go to interviews if ever you were asked by the employer since it is possible that a mark is put on your name for not attending the application.

Thank you for posting those resources; I had never heard of most of them.

I have had some success with Craigslist when looking for work. My favourite aspect of that site is that you can often communicate directly with the employer instead of going through bureaucratic channels.

Thank goodness for the internet. When the only thing available was the job board, it was so frustrating to be limited by that one resource. Now with virtual job boards online, I can get frustrated more often!

At the same time, I also have more opportunities for success, too!

I can vouch for Indeed, as a college student, there are many online positions that can support you whilst on your vacation. There are many opportunities to make some extra cash. If traveling, content and blog writing is a brilliant option and sometimes can pay well!

Wow, these sites did not come up when I was searching online for job sites. I was just using Craigslist, but I’m grateful to learn of these other options. Much appreciated!
