There is no worse fate than finding out you signed up for a class taught by the worst Professor on campus.
Having a sub par professor can truly affect your grades in a negative way. To avoid the possibility of signing up for a class with a terrible professor, therefore setting yourself up for a semester of failed grade, it is vital to get students opinions about professors before you sign up for classes. Asking around campus is great, but you will find a much larger response on the Internet, via RateMyProfessors.com
What is RateMyProfessors?
Most of you probably have the low down, but for those of you who don’t have a clue what I’m talking about, RateMyProfessors.com is a community driven site where students can rate and review their professors.
Why You Have to Use It
RateMyProfessors.com is one of the most useful resources known to college students. The site provides you with invaluable insight, and allows you to pick out only the best professors.
- View thousands of unedited, raw professor reviews from students who have already taken the class.
- Professors are rated in areas like, helpfulness, easiness (most important), clarity and also given an overall rating.
There is no better way to find out about Professors at your school than using RateMyProfessors.com. It is like gaining inside information on the stock market, except it’s perfectly legal.

Conclusion
It is almost inevitable that during your college carrer you are going to be stuck with a bad professor. You can however, greatly minimize your chances of this happening by simply using RateMyProfessors.com.
The student community on RMP is growing rapidly. This means that more reviews and ratings are pouring from students mouths and onto the site everyday, so there is a good chance at least a few of your professors will be listed.
For those of you who have used RateMyProfessors, what do you think of it? Also, if you have any stories of a “bad professor” feel free to leave them in the comment section. We would love to hear these!

Great article Dan,
I’m thankfully done with school, but If I could do it all again this would be an excellent resource. Thanks for sharing.

This is pretty useful. I agree that students must use RateMyProfessors.com to pick the best professor because the duty of an educator is vital in nation building.

I've looked at this website, and I think it is a good thing. It's amazing how you can look forward to a class and be really interested in it, but then the experience is ruined because of a bad professor.
