Writing Guidelines
- You should use good writing skills. (yeah, the ones you learned in English composition – though not quite as formal).
- Posts should be about 300- 500 words. We do accept less though, if the article is well written and to the point.
- Pictures should be included and given proper credit.
- Article must be original. Don’t try and plagiarize or copy an article from another site. (we check on these things).
- Article should provoke conversation in the comment section.
- Include links to other websites, as well as to other articles on Collegethrive.com. This really makes your post more credible.
- Use formatting. For example use paragraphs, bulleted/ numbered lists, and bold headings.
- Capture the reader in your intro paragraph.
Get Started
If you would like to pitch your article idea to us before you write it, feel free to do so. We will let you know what we think. Alternatively, you can skip this step, take your chances, and just send us the article.
We will let you know as soon as possible if your article has been accepted for publication. Once accepted, you will need to:
- Register on CollegeThrive.com
- Fill out your bio – including any links.
- Get yourself a Gravatar (If you want your photo displayed).
The post that you submit may be edited for grammatical errors and the like, but don’t worry, no major changes will be made without consent from the author.
Once your article becomes published on Collegethrive.com, the work cannot be published it anywhere else (Only because we are striving to provide high quality, unique content). You can however publish an excerpt on your own website with a link to the rest of the article.
